As a private label production partner we strive towards sustainability searching for and implementing responsible practices that take the environment and social aspects into account.
Hansen Textile are currently working with recycled fibres in our products. As of now, we use 49% recycled cotton. The recycled input is pre-consumer waste collected from external garment production.
All our textiles, even our recycled textiles, are labeled with OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which ensures that the end-product and all components have been reviewed though a set of requirements for the content of chemical substances that are or are suspected of being harmful to health. We are certified by Teknologisk Institut.
We have a strong partnership with our main supplier in Istanbul, Turkey, that ensures a close overview of the production facility and working environment followed by daily communication and monthly visits. Through this partnership we collaborate on recycling innovations and challenge each other to do better.

To ensure transparency, Hansen Textile is using the Higg Index to support our communication and documentation of our product’s environmental impact. Higg Index is a global platform developed by Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) for textile brands to measure and share their product’s environmental impacts through unified measurement methods.
Hansen Textile uses the Higg Product Module Tool to calculate the water and carbon savings of our primary products and compare them to similar textile products and materials.
The calculation is done by Hansen Textile and includes a cradle-to-cradle focus, meaning the impact of the product’s entire lifecycle from raw material extraction to its end of life. With that said, our main focus and measurements rely on data from the process up to and including the finished product whereas the following process including the use and end of life phases that are based on average standard data.
By using the Higg Index, we aim to document and communicate our primary product’s impact, but also setting future goals for further reductions on environmental impacts. Furthermore, the tool supports us in guiding our customers to make informed choices regarding production methods for dying and specific components when buying our products.
